Virginia!
After some much needed rest in Boone, I hiked a short fifteen miles to Damascus, VA. I spent the night in a bed thanks to a buddy on the trail named Milkshake. He's doing a three month thru hike to raise money for a summer camp for burn victims. He is putting in insane miles! More information can be found about his cause at peaksforpeace.com under Appalachian Adventure. The last few days have been great hiking weather and pretty moderate terrain. Today was a short eleven miles into a truckstop motel near Atkins, VA with a group of about seven other hikers. We spent the afternoon off our feet watching TV, which has been great for our feet. Getting ready for a few 25 mile days coming up!
